Studio Jafri
British artist Sacha Jafri envisioned his Dubai studio as a multifunctional space—a creative headquarters, gallery, office, and think-tank, where ideas could be born, art could be realized, and exhibitions could be experienced.
Our concept centred around the idea of a “room within a room,” creating distinct zones that evoke different moods. The White Room, the Black Room, and other curated spaces guide visitors through Jafri’s 25-year retrospective, offering a journey that transitions from one energy to the next, blending physical and digital experiences.
Movable walls on concealed wheels allow the studio to be restructured for various exhibitions, ensuring the space remains dynamic and adaptable. This flexibility reflects Jafri’s evolving body of work while creating an environment that is both functional and immersive.
The studio balances curves and edges, hard and soft surfaces, rustic and polished finishes. Controlled and natural lighting accentuates the artworks, while textures and forms guide the visitor through an experience that is both intimate and expansive. Thoughtfully integrated office, storage, and digital installations ensure the studio functions as a fully operational creative HQ.
The result is a seamless fusion of art, architecture, and human experience. Visitors move through immersive zones that enhance the energy of each artwork, while the studio simultaneously serves as a flexible exhibition platform and creative sanctuary. The space embodies harmony, inspiration, and adaptability, reflecting both Jafri’s vision and the precision of our design and execution.
